The vast majority of NHS births in the UK are safe, offering some of the safest maternity care in the world. But it could be better. The FutureNHS Fetal Monitoring Leads Network empowers midwives to share ideas, learn from their colleagues, support each other and develop good practice. This programme is built around the secure Kahootz environment where members connect, share knowledge, and work together on safeguarding initiatives.

From being disconnected to Working in the Same Direction

Midwives across the NHS were disconnected from their colleagues and peers, with a huge variation in fetal monitoring approaches adopted across the UK. Face-to-face networking was impractical due to the nature of their work; virtual was the option to bridge the much needed gap.

Powered by Kahootz, FutureNHS emerged as a critical programme to deliver community led network and started with just 6 midwives asking basic questions, before growing to 450 professionals dedicated to the same goal: delivering safe care and providing a safe welcome into the world for newborn babies.

Before long, the network began sharing specialist advice and leading edge practices, speeding up improvements across the United Kingdom. Knowledge sharing and collaboration became much more efficient, empowering midwives to deliver a better experience for those in their care. A now vital community, the network is recognized by the President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
