K3 2010 Training Workshop Dates:
The
Australian Children’s Television Foundation
(ACTF) runs a two x one day Kahootz 3.0 training workshops. The aim of the workshops is to equip educators with necessary skills and knowledge to be confident users and facilitators of Kahootz 3.0 in the classroom. Educators undertaking the Kahootz workshops are encouraged to participate in both days. However participants can choose to participate in a single day. The training is suitable for both primary and lower secondary school educators.
Day 1
focuses on familiarising participants with the general interface and functionality of Kahootz 3.0. Participants involved in the Day 1 Kahootz workshop will plan a unit of work using Kahootz3.0, to satisfy curriculum objectives, develop authentic tasks, plan assessment. Participants will have an opportunity to create their own Xpression modelled on an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on current themes.
Day 2
continues on from where Day 1. It is designed to extend participants knowledge, understanding and skills. The Day 2 workshop will provide participants with hands-on tuition in for Kahootz Bluescreen movies and creating interactive Kahootz games. The day also provides participants with the opportunity to share their experiences of Kahootz with their colleagues.

Making Multimodal Meaning with Kahootz:
A one-day professional development program exploring how visuals, 3D space and sound can be used effectively to communicate meaning in creating a multimodal text.
This program assumes that participants have a working knowledge of Kahootz.
This event is offered in conjunction with the project "Teaching effective 3D authoring in the middle years: multimedia grammatical design and multimedia authoring pedagogy", which is a collaboration between the University of New England, the University of Tasmania and the Australian Children’s Television Foundation, and funded through the Australian Research Council.

The cost is $120 per participant.
