Rationale
| |
This unit integrates aspects across the Key Learning Areas of Information Processing, English and Media.
It involved students choosing a film and then recreating it using Kahootz. The aim for students was to replicate the film
as best as possible using the features that are available in Kahootz. The students were required to create a minimum of 10 slides in the xpression.
The task required students to incorporate key concepts of Information Processing. Students needed to design and produce the xpression using the features
available. Finally, they had to evaluate how well they accomplished this with Kahootz.

Student Tasks
| |
| |
The class was provided with an activity outline by the teacher that required them to produce the following by the end of the 3 - 4 weeks:
Study a film (free choice) regarding film technique, editing, plot and characters. |
Choose appropriate Kahootz 'world' settings suitable for the film. |
Place Objects appropriate to the film (e.g. cars, animals, humans, buildings). |
Use Swatching to change and manipulate the World and Object textures. |
Include various camera technique through various animation features such as

Involvement for Xpression Participant
| |
| |
Students need to consider designing difficulties
(What data do I want to reflect? How will I transfer this onto Kahootz? How can I incorporate all the features of Kahootz?) |
Interrogate the type of Object and World keypoint animation used. |
Examine which Swatches have been used to transform the original Worlds and Objects used. |

Learning Outcomes for Student Creator
| |
| |
Research various features of film. |
Replicate a movie incorporating all the features of a film made in real life. |
Develop an understanding of how perspective and audience view can be adapted,
changed or modified through the use of Swatching. |
Students experiment with various types of animation techniques. |
Allows the student to demonstrate their understanding of film techniques
and creative interpretation of the film they have chosen. |
| |
Collaborative Potential
| |
| |
Students can compare techniques used to convey information. |
Other students could evaluate and assist peers in problem solving. |
